CDE-LHS TRAINS NEW BREED OF CAMPUS JOURNALISTS

To enhance the journalistic writing skills of campus journalists, the College of Development Education (CDE)-Laboratory High School held a seminar-workshop titled “Ignite the Writer Within: A Campus Journalism Seminar-Workshop for Aspiring Writers” on February 8, 2025, at the CBSUA-LHS Quadrangle.

The event featured two distinguished speakers. Ms. Regine Mae L. Quite introduced the fundamentals of journalistic writing, covering various formats such as editorial, column, and sports writing. Meanwhile, Mr. Francis John R. Alcala conducted a lecture on news, feature, science and technology writing, and layout design. Following each session, participants engaged in hands-on workshop activities facilitated by the speakers.

Organized by Dr. Maria Carla Narcisa L. Baduya, Coordinator of the Laboratory High School, and Ms. Raquel B. Conel, Pili Nut Adviser, the seminar-workshop equipped aspiring writers with essential skills. These newly acquired competencies are crucial as participants undergo the selection process for the next editorial board of their publication.
