CBSUA CAMPUSES VIGOROUSLY PREPARE FOR INSTITUTIONAL ACCREDITATION

In its commitment to delivering high-quality education and service to all stakeholders, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) is intensifying preparations for the Institutional Accreditation (IA) of its Calabanga, Pasacao, and Sipocot campuses. This initiative is being carried out under the rigorous standards of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

This move comes on the heels of a milestone achievement by the CBSUA Pili Campus, which was granted Level II Institutional Accreditation. Building on this success, the university aims to replicate and elevate its quality assurance efforts across all campuses. To ensure readiness, the CBSUA Quality Assurance Office has launched a series of comprehensive orientation and training workshops tailored to strengthen the institutional accreditation task forces of the three campuses. These sessions are grounded in the latest updates to the AACCUP tool and enriched by lessons learned from the Pili Campus’s accreditation journey, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and academic distinction throughout the university.

The first phase of training, held from July 18 to 20, 2025, brought together representatives from Calabanga, Pasacao, and Sipocot campuses for focused sessions. Key activities included a re-orientation and coaching program facilitated by Pili Campus task force leaders, who shared best practices and insights into the accreditation process. Participants also engaged in practical workshops on data gathering, documentation, and the preparation of accreditation reports, all aligned with AACCUP’s nine accreditation areas.

The initial two days culminated in a writeshop and presentation of draft institutional profiles per area, with senior university accreditors and Pili Campus leaders offering constructive critiques and recommendations. On the final day, participants took part in a specialized workshop on scriptwriting and video editing, organized in collaboration with the Public Information Office, to help craft impactful audiovisual presentations for their IA documentation.

Moving forward, the second phase of training will feature a mock accreditation. This simulation, conducted by the Quality Assurance Office, will serve as a vital readiness check, with senior accreditors and Pili Campus task force leaders acting as evaluators. The exercise aims to identify areas for refinement and ensure each campus is fully equipped for their upcoming Institutional Accreditation.
