The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) represented the Philippines in the recently concluded 10th Batch SEA-Teacher Programme Evaluation Meeting, held from August 5 to 6, 2025, at Algoritma Auditorium, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia. The university was represented by Dr. Melinda Pan, Dean of the College of Development Education.
Hosted by Universitas Brawijaya and organized by the SEAMEO Secretariat, the evaluation meeting brought together representatives from over 120 teacher education institutions across Southeast Asia and Japan, including participants from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan. The SEA-Teacher Programme, now on its 10th batch, promotes cross-border collaboration in the field of teacher education through pre-service student exchange and professional development.
Dr. Pan partook in the Opening Ceremony and Evaluation Session in the morning of August 5, which aimed to assess the implementation of Batch 10, share best practices, and discuss future improvements for the program. In the afternoon session, she joined a panel discussion and networking activity, which facilitated dialogue among institutions and explored opportunities for enhanced regional cooperation and future partnerships.
Dr. Pan’s attendance reaffirmed CBSUA’s commitment to strengthening international collaboration in teacher education. Her engagement in the evaluation and networking sessions ensured that CBSUA contributed to shaping practical improvements for future batches of the SEA-Teacher Programme.
The SEA-Teacher Programme, organized by SEAMEO, continues to offer valuable opportunities for future educators to gain international experience. CBSUA’s ongoing participation reflects its focus on enhancing teacher preparation through global exposure and regional cooperation. |
