To strengthen the research capabilities of its faculty and staff and explore research opportunities, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) hosted the collaborative research engagement with the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) with the event “Membership Workshop, Research Proposal Making and Feedbacking” on August 5, 2025, at the CBSUA Farmer’s Training Hall.

This whole-day event served as a vital platform for fostering research partnerships, promoting scientific productivity, and expanding professional networks among new and existing NRCP members. The program officially opened with the registration of participants, followed by an opening prayer and the Philippine National Anthem.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed CBSUA and NRCP officials. The opening remarks was delivered by Dr. Dariel A. The morning session was specially dedicated to the new NRCP member-applicants. Participants were guided through the orientation on the NRCP Membership Application Process and Benefits by Ms. Kim Glaiza G. Wong, Science Research Specialist II. In a significant move towards fostering inclusive research culture, new members had the opportunity to submit their accomplished application forms on-site, marking the beginning of their journey with NRCP.

In the afternoon, the session shifted focus to existing NRCP members. Ms. Jennifer T. Casabar, Science Research Specialist II, led a detailed discussion on the Proposal Evaluation Process, Priority Areas, and Specific Requirements, equipping members with essential tools to improve the quality and competitiveness of their research proposals.

This was followed by an inspiring lecture on proposal writing, introduced by Dr. Mae S. Lustre, Research Coordinator-Pili, and delivered by Dr. Eureka Teresa M. Ocampo, Professor at the University of the Philippines – Los Baños. The lecture offered insights on crafting well-structured and impactful proposals, further strengthening the university’s research culture.

The program concluded with the awarding of certificates and a photo opportunity, followed by closing remarks from Dr. Allan Del Rosario, Pili Campus Administrator, who acknowledged the efforts of both the organizers and participants and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to research advancement.

This collaborative engagement with NRCP marks another milestone for CBSUA in nurturing a strong research community, empowering scholars, and contributing to national development through science and innovation. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘳. 𝘑𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘺 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘰; 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘙𝘚𝘋
