OAC LEADS TRAINING ON COMPOST PRODUCTION

The Organic Agriculture Center (OAC) of CBSUA led a two-day training on “Trash to Treasure: Compost Production Using a Rotary Composter” on August 19-20, at the OAC Lecture Hall.

Serving as a prequel to the GREENBIN Project, the activity is spearheaded by Prof. Lily John B. Casimiro as the project proponent. GREENBIN (Generating Resources from Eco-friendly Efforts in Natural Biodegradable Innovation for a Nourishing CBSUA) project underscores the University’s commitment to sustainability by transforming biodegradable waste into high-quality compost—enhancing soil health, reducing chemical use, and promoting eco-friendly farming and education.

The training featured Engr. Tatiara Mae S. San Pascual, Project Assistant III of the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), Naga City, as resource speaker. It also highlighted the active participation of the Physical Plant Division (PPD) utility workers together with staff from various CBSUA offices, demonstrating a strong culture of collaboration and shared responsibility in environmental stewardship.
With this initiative, CBSUA continues to champion sustainability and organic agriculture—proving that trash can truly become treasure for a greener future. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘳. 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 𝘈𝘶𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘊. 𝘍𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘻𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘰
