The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through its College of Development Education (CDE) and Extension Services Division (ESD), successfully conducted the first leg of the Training Workshop on Tech-Infused Instruction and Core Module Development on September 2, 2025, at the CITL, CBSUA Pili Campus.
The activity forms part of the extension project “Building Sustainability and Connections on Enriching Science Education” under the Guided Education through the Now Normal Extension in Science Education (GENES) Program. It aimed to strengthen science instruction through the integration of technology and the development of core learning modules in Biology and Chemistry.
The opening program was highlighted by welcome remarks from Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, followed by the presentation of the activity rationale by Prof. Mary Grace B. Polvoriza, GENES Project Leader and activity proponent.
Interactive sessions and workshops were facilitated by resource experts. Dr. Myra Luz M. Homillano, Associate Professor V of CBSUA, delivered a session on Understanding Learning Modules: Components & Purpose and guided participants in crafting Biology-focused modules. Meanwhile, Dr. Ludivico B. Homillano, Associate Professor V of CBSUA, discussed MATATAG Alignment for Chemistry Modules and module content development.
Participants also presented their outputs — simplified modules in Chemistry and Biology — reflecting their newly acquired knowledge and skills from the training. Each group successfully produced module drafts that integrated the strategies and insights learned during the workshop.
Through this initiative, CBSUA continues to advance its mission of leading innovations in science education while fostering sustainability and future-readiness among educators and learners. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘋𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯
