The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture–Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (CBSUA–ROTC) Unit successfully launched ROTC-CARE (Cadet Awareness, Readiness, and Empowerment): Establishing Basic Cadet as Medic Readiness Through Basic Life Support and Disaster Risk Management Training, a specialized program designed to equip basic cadets under the Medic Platoon with essential competencies in emergency response and disaster preparedness.
Held on November 22, 2025, the training underscores CBSUA’s continued commitment to safety, preparedness, and student welfare—aligned with RA 11058, RA 10121, CHED Memorandum Orders 21 (s. 2009) and 63 (s. 2017), and BOR Resolution No. 50 (s. 2024), which encourage hands-on, experiential learning. The initiative also reinforces the university’s support for the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
The program focused on Basic Life Support (BLS), key emergency response protocols, and intensive simulation drills that enhanced cadets’ skills in vital signs reading, basic first aid, wound management, triage, bandaging, splinting, and spine board/man-carry procedures. Emergency Medical Technicians from the House of Representatives BLS Team of Cong. Legacion, together with the ROTC Training Staff, provided hands-on facilitation to ensure high-quality and practical learning.
Through ROTC-CARE, cadets not only acquired critical life-saving skills but also strengthened their sense of civic responsibility and readiness in times of crisis. This initiative reflects CBSUA’s dedication to cultivating empowered, capable, and service-oriented youth leaders prepared to respond to community needs and national emergencies. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘳.
