The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through the Regional Gender and Development Resource Center (RGADRC), formally opened the Inclusivity Park on December 12, 2025, reaffirming the University’s commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and gender-responsive campus environment.
The initiative was led by the Gender and Development (GAD) Office as part of its continuing efforts to raise awareness on the various forms of violence experienced by women and children, promote existing protective laws, and encourage collective action among members of the University community. The launch was conducted on the last day of the national 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC).
Mr. Glen Redecilla, DAWANI Adviser, underscored the importance of sustaining safe and inclusive spaces that foster respect, equality, and shared responsibility across the University.
The VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan, said that the development of the Inclusivity Park responds directly to students’ expressed need for a secure and inclusive space within the campus. Campus Administrator, Dr. Allan B. Del Rosasrio, seconded this idea by emphasizing that the park serves both as a physical area for learning and social interaction and as a symbol of CBSUA’s adherence to GAD mandates and legal frameworks supporting the protection of women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
University President, Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, noted that the Inclusivity Park reflects CBSUA’s sustained advocacy for gender equality and social inclusion. He further stressed that the park is open to all members of the community.
Through the establishment of the Inclusivity Park, CBSUA strengthens its role as a proactive institution that not only raises awareness but also provides tangible spaces that promote safety, respect, and inclusivity.
