The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Minalabac, successfully conducted the first day of the Cultural Heritage Training Workshop on May 20, 2026, in Minalabac. The activity brought together LGU personnel, CBSUA extension staff, cultural informants, and representatives from various barangays to strengthen initiatives aimed at preserving and documenting the municipalityโs rich cultural heritage.
Municipal Mayor Hon. James Colin D. Lizardo attended the activity and welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of preserving the townโs history, traditions, and cultural identity for future generations. Also present during the activity were Municipal Administrator Kristine L. Marasigan, Danilo M. Gerona, PhD, professor and historian, and Jiye A. Margate, PhD, Program Leader and Professor VI of CBSUA, together with other LGU officials and university representatives.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions, interviews, documentation activities, and collaborative workshops related to cultural mapping and intangible cultural heritage.
