  • Agronomy  - the science and technology of using plants for food, fuel, feed, and fiber.
  • Agricultural Economics - the application of the principles of economics to the production of crops and livestock.
  • Agricultural Extension  - the application of scientific research and new knowledge to agricultural practices through farmer education.
  • Animal Science- the agricultural practice of breeding and raising livestock.
  • Entomology - the scientific study of insects, a branch of arthropodology.
  • Farming Systems – refers to a population of individual farm systems that have broadly similar resource bases, enterprise patterns, household livelihoods and constraints, and for which similar development strategies and interventions would be appropriate.
  • Horticulture - the industry and science of plant propagation and cultivation, crop production, plant breeding and genetic engineering, plant biochemistry, and plant physiology.
