CBSUA hosts SUC-ACAP Biennial Convention

Thedifferent Agricultural State Universities and Colleges in the Philippines convenedat Central Bicol State University of Agriculture as it hosted this year’s StateUniversities and Colleges- Association of Colleges of Agriculture (SUC-ACAP)Biennial Convention on July 19-21, 2017 at the Alvaro Rabina Hall.

 

Bearingthe theme: “Strengthening Capacities in Agriculture through Convergence ofLearning Resources,” the convention tackled the different issues and programs in agricultural courses the universities and colleges are offering,particularly the TVET Curriculum Innovations and its Embedment into the BS Agri-Fishery Curriculum: Looking at the PQF and the Ladderized Interface.

 

The convention featured panel discussions on the Student Mobility for Agriculture:Opportunities, Participation, Monitoring, Experience. The discussion discussed the: Opportunities for International Student Mobility in Agriculture, Student Internship Abroad: Getting Involved, Processes and Procedures, and Coordinating and Monitoring Internship Abroad Activities: The Agrostudies Experiences which was facilitated and tackled Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, Director from the CHED International Affairs; Engr. Ronald A. Liveta, Director of the Office of Student Development Services; and Dr. Ester L. Mercado, National Coordinator for Agrostudies.

 

            Dr. Ronal L. Adamat, CHED Commissioner; Dr. Danilo E. Abayon, SUC-ACAP, Inc. President; Hon. Tomas P. Bongalonta, Jr., Municipal Mayor; Hon. Miguel R. Villafuerte, Provincial Governor; and Hon. Gabriel H. Bordado, Jr., 3rd District of Camarines Sur Representative will be present during the opening of the convention.

 

            A total of 32 State Universities and Colleges attended the Biennial Convention,gathering a total of 72 participants 6 of which are SUC presidents.
