CVM: Bridging Excellence towards the Veterinary Profession

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) celebrated its Veterinary Medicine Week from February 26-March 2, 2018 at the SM Naga Atrium with the theme, “Bridging Excellence towards the Veterinary Profession”. 

The weeklong activity aims to promote the veterinary profession through quality education and to engage communities for better human and animal health. Activities such as Mini Rodeo, Bring Anna-to-me; Webinars, Trivia Quiz, and Spelling Bee were staged. As part of its engagement with the communities, the College also sponsored free animal consultation and vaccination; free spaying and castration; Hog Raisers and Breeders Seminar and a Farmer Seminar.

Other activities to promote responsible pet ownership include Fun Run with Pets, Pet Blessing, and Dog Show. As part of University’s campaign to promote the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine as a viable career for incoming students, activities such as Photo Contest, Vet-for-a-Day, and Poster Making Contest were conducted and participated in by Senior High School Students.

The weeklong celebration is part of the University’s Centennial Celebration in cooperation with the International Veterinary Students’ Association-Bicol Chapter, College of Veterinary Medicine Student Council SY 2017-2018, Venerable Knight and Lady Veterinarians Fraternity and Sorority-Mu Chapter, the Rodeo Club Phils.-CBSUA Chapter, and various private companies.
