Vet Week highlights Quality Education and Active Community Participation

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) kicked off its Veterinary Medicine Week on February 25, 2019 at the SM Naga Event Center and the CBSUA-Pili Campus. Themed “Fortifying the Veterinary Profession: Quality Education and Active Community Participation” activities run until Feb 29.

            This year’s week long celebration highlights the various contributions of veterinarians in advocating quality education and addressing the animal health and welfare needs of communities through the College of Veterinary Medicine’s(CVM) various activities. Free seminars were conducted for the students, pet owners, hog raisers and breeders. It also showcased its engagements with the community such as free castration, neuter and vaccination. Also, part of the celebration are games which include Extreme Challenge, Mini Rodeo, Spelling Bee,ParaParaan and Bring Ana-To-Me. There was also an exhibition game between RC vs. VKLV and CVM Students vs. Alumni held at CBSUA covered court. Activities to promote responsible pet ownership were also conducted such as a Dog Show Marathon held at SM Naga Event Center.

            One of the main events of the CVM Week was the Search for Mr & Ms. Vet Med 2019 where Ms. Angel S. Dalanon was crowned Ms. Vet Med 2019 while Mr. Elmo P. Barra II was selected as Mr. Vet Med 2019.
