DOST, PAGASA, CBSUA collaborates to celebrate NAW

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), and the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) will be hosting the National Astronomy Week (NAW) on February 20-25, 2017 at the Student Atrium.

Bearing the theme “Understanding and Appreciating the Significance of Astronomy in our Daily Lives,” the Space Science and Astronomy Section (SSAS) and the Research & Development and Training Division (RDTD) of PAGASA has prepared activities such as star party contest, mobile planetarium shows, astronomical film showing, telescoping and stargazing sessions, and seminar-workshop on astronomy for public science teachers of Region V.

The NAW celebration will cater to 50 public school science teachers (Elementary and High School) and 600 primary and secondary science students from various schools.
