Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) celebrates another breakthrough in research excellence as faculty members from the College of Development Education successfully published their study in a prestigious Scopus-indexed journal. The research, titled โ๐๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฌ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐ฌ: ๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ,โ was authored by Dr. Myra Luz M. Homillano (lead author), Miss Rochell R. Petil, and Dr. Ludivico B. Homillano, and was officially published on November 7, 2025 (DOI: 10.55214/2576-8484.v9i11.10920).
The study examined knowledge management (KM) awareness among 123 CBSUA employees across the universityโs four campusesโCalabanga, Pasacao, Pili, and Sipocot. It explored how various demographic factors influence KM awareness in the context of Philippine higher education institutions. Results revealed uniformly moderate to high KM awareness across employee groups, with younger personnel aged 25 to 46 registering higher levels of awareness. Employees with six to ten years of service also showed the highest KM understanding, while the study found no significant differences in KM awareness based on gender.
This publication addresses an important gap in the understanding of knowledge management implementation in state universities. Insights from the study are expected to guide CBSUA and other higher education institutions in formulating targeted KM strategies aimed at transforming tacit knowledge into explicit organizational assets, improving academic quality and administrative efficiency, and supporting institutional development through evidence-based practices.
Publishing in a Scopus-indexed journal marks a significant achievement for CBSUA as it reinforces the universityโs commitment to world-class research, active participation in international academic discourse, and the advancement of knowledge management practices in higher education. It also underscores the institutionโs strengthening research capacity and its dedication to creating impactful scholarly contributions.
CBSUA extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Myra Luz M. Homillano, Miss Rochell R. Petil, and Dr. Ludivico B. Homillano for this remarkable accomplishment. This milestone further affirms CBSUAโs vision of becoming a premier agricultural institution known for excellence in instruction, research, and extension services.
