The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) shone with pride as it clinched the Silver Award in the CY 2025 Gender and Development (GAD) Awards conferred by the Bicol Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC). The recognition was announced during the 53rd RDC Week Celebration’s AlaGAD nin Dawani Awarding Ceremony held on September 30, 2025, at the RDC Hall, DEPDev Region 5, Legazpi City.
This year’s awards paid tribute to agencies and institutions that have shown unwavering dedication to advancing gender equality and inclusivity. The Department of Education (DepEd) claimed the Gold Award, while Bicol University (BU) and Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) earned Bronze, completing the circle of GAD champions for 2025.
For CBSUA, the Silver Award reflects more than an accolade—it is the fruit of years of collective commitment and hard work. The university’s journey was highlighted by a rigorous validation visit on September 1, 2025, where evaluators commended its innovative advocacy programs, deep community engagement, and gender-responsive policies that continue to create meaningful change across the Bicol region.
Carrying the CBSUA banner with pride during the ceremony were VPAA Dr. Melinda Pan, GAD Director Dr. Glenn Redecilla, campus GAD focals Dr. Yvette Jonathan Molina, Prof. Joanna Marie Perez, and Dr. Aileen Pancipane, together with University GAD Project Heads Dr. Raquel M. Reapor and Prof. Leizle Manacob. Their presence symbolized the strength of a united community working hand in hand for empowerment and inclusivity.
This milestone further cements CBSUA’s legacy as a champion of inclusive leadership. More than just recognition, the Silver Award is a powerful affirmation of the university’s role as a catalyst for empowerment, equity, and sustainable development—proving that where gender equality thrives, communities flourish, and progress endures. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘴.
