A meaningful exchange of ideas between the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges (CSPC) paved the way for the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), underscoring both institutions’ shared commitment to gender mainstreaming, held on October 22, 2025, at CSPC Nabua.
Representing CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi was Ms. Diana Jane D. Barretto, Unit Head of the Technology Production and Dissemination Unit under the Extension Services Division, who joined the Gender and Development (GAD) team for the ceremonial signing and collaborative discussions.
The CBSUA delegation was warmly welcomed by Prof. Gigi V. Severo, Director of the CSPC GAD Center, along with Dr. Marife N. Barruga, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of CSPC. The event was also supported by CSPC President Dr. Amado A. Oliva Jr., who expressed his full support for the partnership and its future initiatives.
Also present from CBSUA were Dr. Glenn E. Redecilla, Director of the Bicol Regional Gender and Development (GAD) Resource Center and Program Leader; Dr. Raquel Reapor; Prof. Sherwin Baja; and Engr. Dulce Maria Abigail Jastio, the project leader under the We Care Together program, as well as Mr. Gochoel Bermas, staff of the CBSUA GAD Center.
During the exchange, Dr. Redecilla and Dr. Reapor engaged in insightful discussions on gender-responsive practices, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and capacity-building as key strategies for strengthening GAD initiatives within academic institutions. Their contributions enriched the dialogue and deepened the shared understanding between CBSUA and CSPC participants.
“This partnership, which focuses on GAD modeling and the sharing of best practices through gender-responsive instruction, research, and extension—embodied in CBSUA’s We Care Together program, spearheaded by the GAD Center and the project heads of various colleges—serves as a bridge connecting both institutions through shared values of inclusivity, empowerment, and social transformation,” emphasized by Dr. Redecilla.
The collaboration between CBSUA and CSPC aims to further strengthen joint initiatives that promote gender equality and inclusive community engagement—marking another meaningful step in their shared vision of advancing people-centered and transformative education in the Bicol Region. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘳.
