CBSUA, DA RFO V CONDUCT LIVESTOCK TRAINING, VETERINARY MISSION FOR FARMERS

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office V (DA RFO V), conducted a series of extension activities under the project “Incorporating Forage Production Technology for Ruminant Farmers” in Barangay Tinangis, Pili, Camarines Sur, on May 26, 2026.

Farmer-participants attended a training on forage and silage production, aimed at improving feed resource management and livestock productivity. Discussions focused on forage establishment and management, as well as silage production and feed preservation techniques. Resource persons were Ms. Liezl Ayala and Mr. Ernest John Capino, faculty members of CANR.

As part of the initiative, participating farmers received Mombasa grass planting materials to support forage development and help ensure a sustainable feed supply for their ruminant animals.

Meanwhile, a veterinary mission conducted on May 28 provided animal health services and consultations to livestock raisers in the community, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition, feed management, and animal healthcare in improving livestock performance.

The project is led by Dr. Angelo Francis F. Atole, which forms part of CBSUA’s continuing extension efforts to provide farmers with science-based technologies and services that support sustainable livestock production and rural development. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘦 𝘙𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵
