CBSUA, FRS, DA RFO V HOLD TECHNICAL CONSULTATION ON MUSHROOM PRODUCTION

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through its Extension Services Division, in partnership with Fundación Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) and the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office V (DA RFO V), conducted a technical consultation on mushroom production on August 7, 2025 at the CBSUA Farmers Training Hall.  The activity served as a venue to exchange ideas, address production challenges, and develop strategies for strengthening mushroom cooperative enterprises.

The consultation was attended by officers of three women agricultural cooperatives from the municipality of Pili who are set to engage in mushroom production: ROBINSAN Women Agriculture Cooperative, Brilliant Women Agri Producers Cooperative, and VICENTAGOLD Women Agriculture Cooperative.

The activity was spearheaded by Ms. Marie Joyce Cheryl B. Armea, FRS Local Coordinator, and Prof. Vladimir R. Foronda, Director of CBSUA’s Extension Services Division. Technical experts and social enterprise consultants also took part, including Prof. Arce D. Bellere, Director of the CBSUA Mushroom Center; Mr. Andrew S. Arellano, faculty member of CBSUA-CANR; and Mr. Peter Oliver from the Mushroom Division of DA RFO V. They shared insights and recommendations to guide the cooperatives in the development and implementation of their projects.
