CBSUA INAUGURATES CRAFT CENTER FOR ADVANCED AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION

The College of Engineering and Food Science, in partnership with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, marked another milestone in its pursuit of innovation and academic excellence with the official turnover and blessing of the newly constructed CBSUA Climate Resilient Agri-Smart Farming Technologies (CRAFT) Center on August 18, 2025.

The center, envisioned as a hub for agricultural advancement through artificial intelligence, was formally handed over in a ceremony attended by university officials, faculty, students, and stakeholders. The CRAFT Center is equipped with modern facilities, showcasing innovative smart agricultural systems such as indoor gardening, hydroponics, aeroponics, and aquaponics for both indoor and outdoor applications. The facility signifies the universityโ€™s readiness for Industry 4.0 across instruction, research, extension, and entrepreneurial development, aiming to enhance productivity and competitiveness.

In his keynote address, University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi emphasized the primary purpose of the facility, which is to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into agricultural practices, empowering students, researchers, and faculty members to explore tech-driven learning that will transform traditional farming systems. He also urged both colleges to work together to fully utilize the center.

The turnover ceremony concluded with a blessing of the facility, led by Rev. Fr. Bernard M. Lagatic, and joined by the university officials, faculty members, and students.
