CBSUA JOINS ASEAN IN CELEBRATING 58TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

One with the members of the entire ASEAN, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) held a university-wide celebration of the 58th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) earlier today, August 4, 2025.

This year’s celebration carried the theme, “Towards an Inclusive & Sustainable ASEAN Future.” Key university officials, faculty, staff dressed in ASEAN-inspired attire, and students gathered to honor the occasion.

The highlight of the program is the hoisting of the Philippine and ASEAN flags by the university officials. This symbolic action highlights unity among different nations of the association.

In his message, University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi emphasized, “…at this time, ASEAN is not anymore about competing among each nation. It’s about working together to achieve the goals of the association.” Reflecting the message of overseas cooperation, VP for Business and External Affairs Prof. Armando Camba, Sr., shared CBSUA’s recent accomplishments in internationalization, including faculty and student mobility programs. He also announced the upcoming International Conference on Education, Environment, and Agriculture (ICEEA) 2025, to be held in Bali, Indonesia.

The ceremony concluded with a challenge from Dr. Cherry Love Montales, Director of the International Relations Office, who said, “…let us be reminded that each one of us is a symbol of hope and connection. Let us commit to building a university that reflects what ASEAN stands for: cooperation, respect for diversity, mutual help, and shared growth.”

Meanwhile, CBSUA campuses in Pasacao, Sipocot, and Calabanga also partook in the celebration through parallel activities held on their respective campuses.

This activity was initiated by the Office of the Vice President for Business and External Affairs, led by VP Camba. | 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘊𝘉𝘚𝘜𝘈 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢, 𝘚𝘪𝘱𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘰
