The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Pili, conducted a training on “Advancing Youth in Agriculture: Training on Post-Harvest Management, Financial Literacy, and Digital Marketing of Horticultural Crops” under the YOUNGSTERS (YOuth EmpowermeNt ThrouGh InitiativeS in Agricultural PracticEs, Strategies, and Innovations) Project on June 4, 2026, at the CBSUA Farmers Training Hall.
The activity gathered youth participants from Pili to enhance their knowledge and skills in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and financial management, to encourage greater youth involvement in agri-based livelihood opportunities.
LGU-Pili, under the leadership of Mayor Marivic B. Solano, expressed strong support for the initiative. LGU representatives Caroline G. Resayaga, Rodel M. Gerbeles, Basil Dr. Layosa, and Geronimo R. Ayo Jr. highlighted the importance of empowering the youth through agriculture education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The training featured sessions on post-harvest management of horticultural crops, digital marketing strategies for agricultural products, and financial literacy. Resource persons included John Edrald R. Torreña, Jason Oliver S. Reyes, and Amy J. Sañosa.
