CBSUA NSTP-ROTC UNIT OF PILI CAMPUS CONDUCTS PRESENTATION OF SPONSOR AND ESCORT CEREMONY

The CBSUA NSTP-ROTC Unit of Pili Campus formally conducted the Presentation of Sponsor and Escort Ceremony (POSE) last December 6, 2025, showcasing the enduring traditions of the Corps and emphasizing the importance of mentorship in cadet development. Sponsors and escorts were officially introduced to the cadet officers, representing the guiding presence that supports, advises, and motivates the future leaders of the ROTC.

The Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS) of the event was LTC. JOSEPHUS EMAR REMPILLO (INF) PA, Director of the 502nd Community Defense Center (CDC), who emphasized the importance of celebrating this traditional event as an integral part of college student-cadet life. He highlighted how such ceremonies strengthen discipline, camaraderie, and the appreciation of ROTC customs among cadets. Afterwards, the University Assistant Commandant, LTC RICKY G MERCADO (SC) PA read and passed down the obligations of the Patron and Matron of the Sponsors and Escorts, symbolizing that the ROTC Corps of Cadets has strong institutional support in the implementation of its programs.

The ceremony commenced with the cadets forming in ranks, followed by the symbolic cotillon dance and candle lighting, which marked the formal opening and set a simple, solemn yet celebratory atmosphere for the evening. This was followed by the formal introduction of the sponsors and escort then concluded with a night of socialization, allowing cadets, sponsors, and escorts to interact and build camaraderie, reinforcing the mentorship and support system that sustains ROTC programs.

This activity highlighted the significance of ROTC customs in fostering leadership values, respect for hierarchy, and accountability. It provided cadets with a deeper appreciation of the mentorship system, emphasizing that guidance and support are essential for personal growth, effective decision-making, and the development of a cohesive Corps.
