The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture-National Service Training Program Office (CBSUA-NSTP), in coordination with Campus and Component Coordinators, conducted a training on Environmental Management System (EMS) Compliance and Awareness aligned with ISO 14001:2015 standards for NSTP key officials from all campuses, on November 14, 2025.
The session featured Guest Lecturer Mr. Chris Ian Pan of CRC-EMO and Dr. Philip N. Talay, CRC Director, in the morning, followed by a Management Meeting in the afternoon. The activity aimed to enhance environmental awareness, strengthen compliance with sustainability standards, and promote the integration of EMS principles into NSTP programs and initiatives across the university. The EMS training was designed not only to ensure compliance but also to instill a culture of environmental responsibility across all operational levels, while the Management Meeting focused on unifying, systematizing, and synchronizing the implementation of RA 9163 across all campuses under the leadership of Dr. Melchora V. Abonal, NSTP Director.
In addition, the activity encouraged proactive engagement in environmental protection and pollution prevention initiatives; discussed upcoming major events, revisited the NSTP Manual; and tackled the activation of the ROTC Unit and other NSTP initiatives.
Through this activity, participants gained a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental awareness and compliance within NSTP operations. The EMS training improved their confidence and strengthened their capacity to apply sustainability principles across various program initiatives, while the Management Meeting provided an avenue to align, unify, and systematize NSTP implementation across campuses. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮: 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘳.
