The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Non-Teaching Employees Association Inc. (NTEA) recently commemorated its 39th anniversary with a two-day celebration on August 7-8, 2025 at the CBSUA Pili Campus. The event embraced the theme: “One Purpose, One Heart, One Progress: 39 Years of Strength, Camaraderie, Unity, and Service”.
On the first day, the association focused on professional development of its members and hosted a comprehensive financial literacy seminar for non-teaching employees from all four campuses. In collaboration with BDO Unibank, financial experts provided valuable insights into financial management. The sessions featured Mr. Peter John B. De Castro from BDO Remit on Saving and Budget Management, Mr. Eldon Neri Y. Roldan from the Trust & Investment Group on “Why Invest,” and Mr. Christopher B. Berdin from BDO Network Bank SLG/MSME on “Good Debt vs. Bad Debt.” Another representative from Agency Banking also discussed the “Cash Agad” service.
The second day, led by CBSUA-NTEA President Luigi Lorenzo N. Razal, began with a vibrant parade around the campus, symbolizing the solidarity of the non-teaching employees. A highlight of the morning was a Thanksgiving Mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Bernard M. Lagatic, Parish Priest of St. Therese of Calcutta. Later, University President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi addressed the attendees, reminding them to always embody the values of respect, discipline, and care. He emphasized the importance of the acronym “SMILE,” which stands for Sincerity, Meticulous, Integrity, Love, and Engaging, underscoring that compassion and hard work are essential to the university’s success. “CBSUA would never be what it is today without the efforts of the non-teaching employees,” he stated.
To foster camaraderie and unity, the NTEA Officers organized various activities, including a Sports Festival, traditional Laro ng Lahi games, and a Music and Dance Competition. The anniversary celebration concluded with a fellowship dinner and socials, providing a fitting end to a successful two-day event that combined both professional growth and community spirit.
