The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) of the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) welcomed officials from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Camarines Sur, during a courtesy visit on February 24, 2026, to discuss potential collaborative initiatives under the Smart Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP).
Led by Vice President for Research and Innovation Dr. Dariel A. Palmiano, the meeting served as a venue to explore opportunities for integrating science, technology, and innovation-driven solutions into local governance and community development efforts across the province.
The DOST Camarines Sur delegation was headed by Provincial Science and Technology Director Patronicio N. Felizmenio, accompanied by Supervising Science Research Specialist Julie Anne G. Balangat-Lomadilla and Senior Science Research Specialist Angelyn D. Otilla. During the discussion, the delegation presented key priority areas under the SSCP framework, highlighting initiatives focused on digital transformation, disaster resilience, environmental sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
Both offices emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships to empower local government units and communities through data-driven planning and smart technologies. The Smart Sustainable Communities Program seeks to enhance public service delivery, promote evidence-based governance, and build resilient, future-ready communities.
