In pursuit of its internationalization goals and commitment to developing globally competitive graduates, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) – Sipocot Campus actively participated in the Taiwan Summer Class Program on Mandarin and Baking, hosted by Dayeh University from June 19 to July 1, 2025, in Taiwan.
The program brought together a diverse delegation of eleven students selected from various colleges within the campus. From the College of Development Education, participants included Paw Madrid, Jose Francisco, Ivan Cole Gacusan, Adalbert Baluyo Jr., and Jezarie Ramirez. Annabelle Beraña represented the College of Criminology, while Nathaniel Mirandilla, John Raiven Matociños, and Anna Riza Canlas joined from the College of Industrial Technology. Jessa Mae Solano from the College of Information Technology and Kaycee Garcia from the Agroforestry and Environmental Science Program completed the delegation.
Leading the CBSUA Sipocot delegation was Assistant Professor Sherwin M. Baja, Coordinator of the International Relations Office – Sipocot Campus and a faculty member of the Agroforestry and Environmental Science Program. Professor Baja also participated in the summer program, engaging in all instructional and cultural immersion activities alongside the students.
The two-week program featured an integrated curriculum that combined structured Mandarin language instruction with hands-on training in traditional Taiwanese baking techniques. These sessions, facilitated by Dayeh University’s expert faculty, were enriched with cultural immersion activities specifically designed to promote global citizenship, intercultural awareness, and collaborative learning among the participants.
CBSUA Sipocot extends its sincere appreciation to Dayeh University and its Taiwanese partners for their warm hospitality, academic mentorship, and support for international exchange. Likewise, heartfelt gratitude is extended to the CBSUA administration for its unwavering support in broadening global opportunities for both faculty and students.
This initiative highlights the university’s proactive role in promoting international linkages and providing students with meaningful global academic experiences, aligning with the university’s broader vision of cultivating globally competent, culturally grounded, and socially responsive graduates. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘚𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘔.
