Mr. Mark B. Enesio, a fourth-year BS Agroforestry student of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA)-Sipocot Campus, began his student exchange program journey in VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Flanders, Belgium, through a turnover on September 16-19, 2025.
Staying true to its commitment to providing a unique educational experience for its learners, CBSUA intensifies its student mobility activities through international collaborations. This ongoing effort led to stronger ties with globally recognized universities such as VIVES University of Applied Sciences.
The turnover marked the start of his five-month academic stay in the foreign university, beginning on September 2025 to January 2026. During the turnover, he was accompanied by Mr. Vincent Vermudo, also a former student exchange in VIVES University of Applied Sciences, now a faculty member of the Environmental Science and Agroforestry (ESAF) Department under the College of Criminology of CBSUA-Sipocot.
Throughout the visit, Mr. Vermudo and Mr. Enesio participated in various academic and institutional activities. They met with personnel from Inagro, one of the leading research centers in Flanders, Belgium, where Mr. Vermudo’s internship was. They met with President Kathy Dewitte of VIVES University of Applied Sciences, along with International Relations Officers Tine Ternest, Joke Calcoen, and Melanie Carbonelle. Their meeting centered on strengthening academic collaboration and exploring opportunities for future partnerships and exchanges between CBSUA and VIVES University. They also met with the heads of the Synergie Program: Dirk De Temmerman, Peter, and Jan, where they discussed the active programs of Synergie, including community development projects in the Philippines and other initiatives that promote sustainability, innovation, and international cooperation.
They also visited Hof ter Galeien, a cow farm; and Bellibels–Maes Reyns, an ornamental farm; which both best exhibit Belgium’s advanced practices in livestock and plant farming.
This international journey not only ensured the successful turnover of CBSUA’s exchange student but also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to promoting internationalization, advancing academic and research collaboration, and nurturing globally competitive learners. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘳.
