With its steadfast commitment to community service, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) extended its support to the municipality of Baao in the implementation of its Free Neutering and Spaying Program for domestic cats and dogs. The activity, initiated by the Municipal Agriculture Office under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Jeffrey S. Besinio, was held on July 4, 2025, at the Baao Covered Court, Baao, Camarines Sur.
The program aimed to help manage the growing population of stray cats and dogs in the locality. Through this initiative, the LGU promotes a safer and healthier Baao by adopting the One Health approach, which highlights the link between human and animal well-being.
Serving as lead surgeons during the procedures were Dr. Shiloh Grace B. Perdon and Dr. Clarita P. Borela, faculty members from the CBSUA College of Veterinary Medicine. They were joined by volunteer veterinarian Dr. Ma. Francia Pamarang, who also generously shared her expertise during the activity.
Supporting the medical team were five junior clinicians from CBSUAโs College of Veterinary Medicine, who provided technical and logistical assistance throughout the activity.
