The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) has officially partnered with the National Consortium on Small-Scale Fisheries Research and Development, also known as Too Big To Ignore (TBTI)-Philippines, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on July 15, 2025. The signing ceremony was held at the Mindanao State University-Marawi Campus and coincided with the 16th TBTI Executive Committee Meeting.
The MOA aims to strengthen collaboration between CBSUA and TBTI-Philippines in several key areas, including small-scale fisheries research, community-based resource management, and policy engagement. The partnership is expected to lead to co-developed research projects, capacity-building initiatives, and the integration of CBSUA faculty and researchers into TBTI’s national and international knowledge networks.
Representing CBSUA was Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, Vice President for Research and Innovation, who attended on behalf of University President Alberto N. Naperi, DPA. Also in attendance were Dr. Ernesto D. Doloso, Jr., Campus Administrator of CBSUA-Calabanga, and Ms. Agnes Z. Faustino, Director of the San Miguel Bay Research and Innovation Center (SMBRIC) and CBSUA’s official TBTI-Philippines focal person.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Clement Camposano, UPV Chancellor and Chairperson of TBTI-Philippines, and Dr. Alice Joan Ferrer, UPV Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Executive Director of the consortium. Both reaffirmed their commitment to working with academic institutions to advance inclusive and sustainable fisheries governance. This collaboration highlights CBSUA’s active role in national research and its contribution to the development of coastal and fisheries communities. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘴. 𝘈𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘡.
