The Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) conducted a benchmarking activity at the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS)–Guidance and Counseling Unit of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) on July 30, 2025, at the OSAS, CBSUA Student Center.
The activity explored best practices in delivering programs for special populations and strengthening the Peer Facilitators Program. The visit showcased CBSUA’s commitment to inclusive and student-centered services. Notable best practices included the structured support systems for learners in difficult circumstances, a responsive case management approach, and a dynamic peer facilitators program that empowers student leaders as mental health advocates and mental health first responders.
CBSUA’s OSAS also presented its innovative psychosocial support interventions, collaboration with academic and community stakeholders, and its use of data-driven strategies to address diverse learner needs. The integration of inclusive education principles in guidance services, along with training modules tailored for peer facilitators, were key models for practices. The benchmarking activity fostered meaningful dialogue between the two institutions and underscored the shared vision of creating safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments. CNSC aims to adopt and adapt these best practices as it continues to strengthen its own student support programs and services. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘴. 𝘓𝘦𝘪𝘻𝘭𝘦 𝘉.
