The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture–Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (CBSUA–ROTC) Unit of the Pili Campus, together with representatives from the Pasacao, Calabanga, and Sipocot Units, proudly celebrated its 50th Army–ROTC Activation Anniversary on November 23, 2025.
Marking five decades of leadership, discipline, service, and excellence, the celebration opened with Zumba, a Fun Run/March, and a meaningful Battalion Ceremony. Basic Cadets also took part in community-centered activities, including tree stewardship, clean-up drives, outreach programs, a Military Food Exhibit, a Future Cadet Orientation for Sagurong High School, and an ROTC History Exhibit showcasing the unit’s rich legacy since its establishment under General Order No. 288 in 1975.
The program continued with the Golden Torch Lighting Ceremony, followed by inspirational messages from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Melinda P. Pan, Campus Administrator Dr. Allan B. Del Rosario, and NSTP Director Dr. Melchora V. Abonal. ROTC alumnus and guest speaker CPT Benigno V. Lopez Jr. (FS) PA, former Corps Commander (SY 2003–2004), also delivered a heartfelt address. The event likewise honored ROTC pioneers whose service and dedication helped shape the CBSUA ROTC Unit through the years.
In the afternoon, cadets showcased their creativity and teamwork through ROTC Got Talent, featuring spoken poetry, singing performances, the ROTC Chorale, presentations by cadet members of Indayog and Theatro Ladawan, slogan- and poster-making contests, and the ROTC Quiz Bee—all of which strengthened camaraderie and campus unity.
This meaningful celebration brought together ROTC cadets from Pili and other CBSUA campuses, reinforcing institutional pride and reaffirming the ROTC Unit’s enduring commitment to patriotism, leadership development, and community service.
