The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA)–Pili Campus, through its National Service Training Program (NSTP) Office, successfully held “ISTERO x ISTILO: Inspiring Environmental Responsibility and Empowering Youth through University Clean-Up and Leadership Training” on December 14, 2025, bringing together students in a day-long initiative centered on service, sustainability, and leadership.
The activity was spearheaded by NSTP implementers MC Wilson De Cena, Jonalyn Palaypayon, Abigael Rose Bobis, and Alvir Bausa, in collaboration with PPDS – Utility Services, as part of the program’s continuing efforts to translate civic education into meaningful community action.
The event unfolded in two major phases. In the morning, students participated in a campus-wide clean-up drive, actively promoting environmental stewardship through proper waste segregation, designated area assignments, and collective volunteer work, which strengthened students’ sense of civic responsibility and environmental awareness. Faculty members and trained medics were present throughout the activity to ensure safety, discipline, and smooth coordination.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to leadership training and a culminating social program, where students engaged in interactive sessions to enhance communication skills, teamwork, decision-making, and values-based leadership. The activities fostered camaraderie among participants and encouraged them to reflect on their roles as responsible citizens and future leaders in their respective communities.
The ISTERO x ISTILO activity demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability, leadership development, and community engagement, reinforcing CBSUA’s mission of shaping socially responsible, service-oriented, and empowered graduates. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘕𝘚𝘛𝘗 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪
