CBSUA EXPLORES RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP ON TRADITIONAL KNOWLEDGE ON HEALTH WITH DOST-PCHRD

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) strengthened its research linkages with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) through a seminar on Traditional Knowledge on Health Program Research Mapping and Partnership, held on November 21, 2025 at the Farmer’s Training Hall, and attended by faculty researchers from the university’s four campuses.

In her opening message, Research Director Dr. Mae Lustre welcomed the initiative and encouraged faculty researchers to develop proposals for possible funding through DOST-PCHRD. Ms. Mylene Marco, Science Research Specialist II, introduced PCHRD programs and services and discussed the agency’s traditional health knowledge initiatives. Resource speakers Dr. Isidro Sia, Executive Director of INAM Philippines, and Assoc. Prof. Shela Ruiz, Director of the Knowledge Management Center, shared ongoing efforts to document traditional health practices, with Dr. Sia providing the overview of the Traditional Knowledge Documentation Research Protocol. Ms. Yvonne Ricafort, Project Technical Assistant III, presented guidelines for Grant-in-Aid funding under the Department of Science and Technology.

University President Dr. Alberto Naperi emphasized the value of grant-giving institutions such as DOST–PCHRD in supporting research productivity.
