CBSUA FACULTY MEMBERS PUBLISH SCOPUS-INDEXED RESEARCH IN INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) marked a significant milestone in research excellence as faculty members Mr. Jayryl D. Enano and Dr. Marilyn B. Balderas from the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) published their study in the International Journal of Vegetable Science, a Scopus-indexed journal ranked in the second quartile.
The study, entitled โ€œRadiation-modified Carrageenan and Vermicompost Tea Improve Stress Tolerance and Yield of Tomato under Wet Cropping Season,โ€ was published on January 10, 2026 (DOI: 10.1080/19315260.2026.2614341).
The study demonstrates that combining radiation-modified carrageenan with aerated vermicompost tea effectively improves tomato resilience and productivity during wet-season conditions. Results showed reduced disease incidence, enhanced plant vigor, and earlier flowering and harvesting. The 20,000 ppm carrageenan treatment produced the highest yield and return on investment, demonstrating its potential as a sustainable alternative to synthetic fertilizers and pesticides.
This achievement reinforces CBSUA’s commitment to world-class research and its vision of becoming a premier agricultural institution. CBSUA Community congratulates Mr. Enano and Dr. Balderas for this significant contribution to sustainable agriculture and international academic discourse. | ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต ๐˜ง๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฎ ๐˜™๐˜š๐˜‹
