The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) joined the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID) and Fundación de Religiosos para la Salud (FRS) in the turnover ceremony of the High-Value Crops Production Facility to the Piligueña Growers Agriculture Cooperative on March 25, 2026, in Palestina, Pili, Camarines Sur, marking a milestone in promoting women empowerment and climate-resilient agriculture.

The project is a collaborative initiative involving AECID, FRS, Siervas de Jesús de la Caridad, the Local Government of Pili, and CBSUA, which aims to strengthen local governance, advance gender equality, and build climate resilience among vulnerable women in Pili.

Cooperative Chairperson Natividad SJ. Kidachi formally accepted the facility, which features an irrigation system, essential agricultural inputs, and a top-down motorcycle to support farm operations and improve efficiency. The turnover represents a significant step toward sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in the community.

The turnover ceremony was attended by FRS Country Coordinator Alfonso C. Nuñez; Sor Ellen Luz G. Fajardo of Siervas de Jesús de la Caridad; Pili Mayor Marivic Solano; and Councilor Bing Regondola, who expressed continued support for the cooperative. CBSUA representatives Dr. Vladimir R. Foronda, Dr. Ma. Victoria Balderas, Leizl G. Ayala, Almira R. Billones, and Jasmine A. Olavides, along with the Extension Services Division staff, served as technical consultants and facilitators during the event.

With the establishment of this facility, the cooperative is expected to enhance productivity, improve access to resources, and strengthen the technical capabilities of its members in high-value crop production, contributing to long-term socio-economic development in the community. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘓.
