The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) brought together partner agencies, local government units, and community stakeholders at the SWKS Gathering Hall on April 10, 2026, for a Project Exit Conference and Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing, showcasing project outcomes and strengthened commitments to sustainable community development in Pili, Camarines Sur.
The activity served as the culmination of a development initiative supported by the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), Fundación de Religiosos para la Salud (FRS), CBSUA, and other partners, which focused on strengthening socio-economic empowerment, governance, and climate resilience among women sectors in Pili.
Project updates, accomplishments, and sustainability plans were presented by FRS Country Coordinator Alfonso C. Nuñez, alongside testimonies from each cooperative, who shared how the initiative contributed to improved livelihoods and greater community participation.
University officials delivered messages of support during the program, with CBSUA Vice President for Administration and Finance Dominador F. Faurillo, speaking on behalf of SUC President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi, emphasizing the university’s continued commitment to supporting women as empowered partners in development, rather than framing them as vulnerable, noting their active role in community growth and transformation.
Technical consultants and partner agencies were also recognized for their contributions to the successful implementation of the project.
The event also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for the SUSLIVES Program, aimed at sustaining and expanding initiatives on livelihood development, gender equality, governance, and climate resilience. This formalized the continued collaboration among CBSUA, national government agencies, local government units, and partner organizations.
Representatives from the Department of Agriculture Region V (DA-RFO 5), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Agricultural Training Institute Region V (ATI-RTC V), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Camarines Sur, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Goat Raisers Association Camarines Sur (GRACS), and the Local Government Unit of Pili expressed support for the program, tackling the importance of sustained multi-sectoral cooperation in advancing community development.
