The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), through the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), conducted two livelihood training sessions for women farmers from San Jose Partido, Camarines Sur under the Training Assistance for Women Farmers (TAWO) Project on June 9–10, 2026, at the Pimentel Building, LGU-San Jose.
Led by Project Leader Lourdes Lobis-Nieva, PhD, the activity focused on providing participants with practical skills in utilizing rice straw for value-added products. The first training covered Basic Paper Craft Making, while the second introduced the production of charcoal briquettes using rice straw and recycled materials.
Resource persons Salvacion A. Eje and Lourdes S. Bascuña facilitated the discussions and hands-on demonstrations, sharing techniques and potential livelihood opportunities from paper craft products and charcoal briquette production.
The TAWO Project aims to help women farmers maximize locally available resources by transforming agricultural by-products into useful and marketable products. With the training, participants gained additional knowledge and skills that may serve as alternative sources of income for their households and communities. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘙𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘰 𝘔𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘻𝘢, 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘚𝘋
