The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) highlighted student research excellence during the 2026 Science and Technology Excellence Awards Competition (STEAC), held virtually via Zoom on June 9–10, 2026. The two-day event gathered graduating undergraduate and graduate students from across the University’s colleges and campuses, featuring research outputs aligned with innovation and agro-industrial development.
Now a continuing institutional competition, STEAC serves as a venue for presenting student research outputs with practical applications in areas such as food security, environmental management, energy, and socio-economic development. The activity is anchored on CBSUA’s vision of becoming a leading agro-industrial research university.
The competition featured three categories: Graduate Papers, Undergraduate Papers, and E-Poster Presentations, with entries covering a wide range of studies including agriculture, fisheries, engineering, veterinary science, education, and emerging technologies. A total of 17 graduate papers, 10 undergraduate papers, and 51 e-posters were presented and evaluated by panels of experts from various disciplines.
Day 1 opened with program messages from university officials, followed by simultaneous paper presentations. Day 2 continued with presentations and e-poster judging, culminating in the announcement of winners and awarding of certificates. Cash prizes and recognition were given to top-performing entries across all categories, while advisers and participants also received certificates of recognition.
Winning entries are set to be recommended for publication and possible nomination to regional and national competitions, further advancing CBSUA’s commitment to research dissemination and innovation.
With STEAC 2026, CBSUA continues to strengthen a culture of research excellence among students, providing a platform for innovation that contributes to both academic growth and community development. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘦 𝘙𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘑𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘴
