The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA)-Pili Campus, through its National Service Training Program (NSTP), successfully concluded Academic Year 2025–2026 with a series of milestone ceremonies recognizing the achievements of its ROTC and CWTS graduates. The ROTC Graduation Ceremony and Turnover of Command were held on May 30, 2026, at the CBSUA Parade Ground, while the CWTS Graduation Ceremony, NSRC Induction, and Turnover Ceremony took place on May 31, 2026, at the CBSUA Auditorium.

The two-day celebration highlighted the accomplishments of graduating NSTP students and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to developing disciplined, service-oriented, and socially responsible future leaders.

The ROTC Graduation Ceremony gathered graduating cadets, cadet officers, university officials, alumni, and guests in a solemn event recognizing the successful completion of military training and leadership development under the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program. A key highlight of the ceremony was the Turnover of Command, symbolizing the transfer of authority and responsibility from outgoing cadet leaders to their successors and ensuring the continuity of leadership within the unit.

Serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker was LTC Edgar Madrid PA (RES), a distinguished alumnus of the CBSUA ROTC Unit. In his inspirational message, he commended the graduates for choosing the ROTC program, describing their decision as a reflection of courage, discipline, and commitment to personal growth. He encouraged the cadets to remain steadfast in pursuing their goals and reminded them that effective leadership is founded on integrity, perseverance, and responsible decision-making.

“Your success begins with the choices you make today. Continue to lead with honor, discipline, and commitment wherever life takes you,” he shared.

The following day, graduating Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) students, faculty facilitators, university officials, and community partners gathered at the CBSUA Auditorium for the CWTS Graduation Ceremony. The event celebrated the completion of the students’ community-based training and civic engagement activities and formally welcomed the graduates into the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC).

The program also featured a Turnover Ceremony, during which outgoing student leaders officially passed their responsibilities to newly elected officers, ensuring the continuity of CWTS and NSRC initiatives within the university.

Delivering the keynote address was Hon. Atty. Nelson Legacion, who underscored the vital role of service in leadership and nation-building. He encouraged graduates to embody the spirit of public service in both their personal and professional lives, emphasizing that genuine service extends beyond academic requirements and should become a lifelong commitment.

“Service is not merely an obligation; it is a calling. The willingness to help others and contribute to the welfare of the community is what defines true leadership,” he emphasized.

The induction of graduates into the NSRC further strengthened their readiness to participate in future civic welfare, environmental protection, disaster preparedness, and community development initiatives, reflecting the NSTP’s mission of cultivating active and responsible citizens.

As the ceremonies concluded, graduates from both ROTC and CWTS were reminded that their NSTP journey does not end with graduation. Rather, it marks the beginning of a lifelong commitment to leadership, volunteerism, civic engagement, and service to the nation.

Through these milestone events, CBSUA-Pili NSTP once again affirmed its dedication to producing graduates who are not only academically prepared but also guided by the values of discipline, integrity, patriotism, and service—qualities essential in building stronger communities and a better nation. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘳.
