The purpose of the MOA is to solidify the partnership between CBSUA and CDA, aiming to elevate the education and training standards for cooperatives. The focus will be on conducting Training of Trainers (ToT) of accredited Cooperative Training Providers (CTPROs) and prospective applicants seeking accreditation from CDA.

Signing the MOA were the CBSUAโ€™s University President, Dr. Alberto N. Naperi and CDAโ€™s Regional Director, Atty. Emilio D. Escueta III, along with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Emerson L. Bergonio, the Vice president for Research and Innovation, Dr. Ramona Isabel S. Ramirez, the Senior Development Specialist, Maโ€™am
Monina M. Bechayda of CDA Training Section and other representatives from both institution. The agreement outlines several crucial areas of cooperation that will contribute to the improvement of cooperative education and training.

The MOA signing signifies a proactive step towards bridging academia and government efforts in advancing cooperative development. It is expected that this partnership will lead to a more skilled workforce within cooperatives, improved governance practices, and ultimately contribute to the socio-economic development of cooperative members and communities.

The said partnership strengthens CBSUAโ€™s progress by establishing a formal platform with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to deliver high-quality training programs that professionalize cooperative operations by enhancing innovation and industry skills, and building a more capable, sustainable, and innovation-ready workforce for local cooperatives and SMEs.Both institutions are eager to commence activities outlined in the agreement and look forward to a fruitful collaboration that will make a meaningful impact on cooperative development in the Philippines.
