ICYMI | CBSUA, CSU INK ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH PARTNERSHIP

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and Cagayan State University (CSU) officially sealed an academic and research partnership following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 21, 2026, at the CSU Central Administration Conference Room in Tuguegarao City.

The agreement was signed by CBSUA President Alberto N. Naperi and CSU Officer-in-Charge President Arthur G. Ibañez, paving the way for closer collaboration in key areas such as student and faculty mobility, joint research and publications, academic program development, and other scholarly and extension initiatives.

During the ceremony, President Naperi noted that the engagement forms part of CBSUA’s broader strategy to strengthen institutional capacity by learning from and collaborating with universities recognized for their strong research and academic resources, such as CSU.

“We have a mission to benchmark universities that we consider strong resources, and Cagayan State University is one of them,” Dr. Naperi said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ibañez expressed excitement over the partnership, saying it’s the perfect opportunity for CSU to support and collaborate with CBSUA while showcasing its niche programs across campuses, especially the Carig Campus. He assured that CSU is ready to lend faculty and specialists wherever CBSUA needs support.

The partnership signing was followed by a benchmarking visit from the CBSUA delegation to key facilities at the CSU–Carig Campus, including the Food Innovation Center, the Metals Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), and the Electromobility Research and Development Center (EMRDC). The visit aimed to gather insights on applied research, technology commercialization, and innovation-driven development that could be adapted to CBSUA’s academic and extension programs. | 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘚𝘜
