In its pursuit of providing global learning exposure to its students, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) welcomed officials from Tong Yeng Motor, Taiwan, who conducted final interviews for potential interns on January 19-20, 2026, at the CBSUA Sipocot and Calabanga campuses.
This internationalization initiative is carried out under the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP). Around 80 students will be selected to undertake their internship in Taiwan, particularly at Tong Yeng Motor, CBSUA’s official partner for the program. Once selected, they are expected to complete a six-month fully funded study and practical training program, earning nine academic units and gaining potential employment opportunities after graduation. The interview process aimed to identify students who meet the standards set by the company for those they will bring to their country. The interview panel was composed of Mr. Ying Jye Huang Chung, Mr. Hsin Huang Hsih Sheng, and Mr. Lin “Jacky” Huang.
The delegation began their visit with a courtesy call to the OIC-President and the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Atty. Dominador F. Faurillo. The Vice President expressed his gratitude to the Taiwan delegation for choosing CBSUA as their partner, noting that the collaboration would provide valuable global exposure for the students. They also went to the office of the VP for Academic Affairs and met Dr. Melinda Parro-Pan for another courtesy visit.
Interview sessions were conducted for students from the College of Industrial Technology of both the Sipocot and Calabanga campuses. During the opening program, university officials from each campus delivered inspiring messages and reminded the interviewees to uphold the values instilled in them by CBSUA and to strive for excellence in pursuit of their dreams. Mr. Jacky Huang further emphasized that the overseas opportunity forms part of their academic journey and encouraged students to continue capacitating themselves with the skills and knowledge needed to improve their craft.
After the rigorous interviews, successful applicants were immediately announced and advised to proceed to the next stage of preparations.
Through the SIAP, in close coordination with the International Relations Office led by its Director, Dr. Raquel M. Reapor, with the campus coordinators, CBSUA continues to strengthen its commitment to internationalization by opening doors for students to gain global experience, industry exposure, and expanded career opportunities beyond borders.
