CBSUA, PCC MEET FOR PARTNERSHIP DISCUSSION

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) welcomed a delegation from the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) to continue discussions on their partnership on January 22, 2026, at the CBSUA Board Room.

The partnership aims for PCC, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (DA), to establish a regional station at CBSUA. The regional station will house a Philippine carabao farm and laboratories equipped with facilities essential to PCC operations. These facilities may also be utilized by CBSUA students and faculty for instruction and research.

The PCC delegation, led by  Dr. Thelma A. Saludes, Center Chief of DA-PCC, UPLB, began their visit with an ocular inspection of the identified land area where the station is proposed to be established. The visit particularly assessed the condition of the forage area where the Philippine carabaos will be raised.

Further discussions were held at the University Board Room. OIC-President and Vice President for Administration and Finance, Atty. Dominador F. Faurillo, welcomed the delegation. In his message, he lauded the objectives of the partnership, highlighting how it would help strengthen agricultural development and promote cultural appreciation for the Philippine carabao. Prof. Vladimir Foronda, who revitalized CBSUA’s partnership with PCC, provided a brief background of the collaboration. Representatives from PCC and CBSUA then proceeded with an in-depth discussion of the details of the joint initiative.

Through the meeting, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to advancing livestock development, research, and extension services in the region.
