OVPBEA-ILSPO WELCOMES NEW CAMPUS COORDINATORS; REINFORCES COMMITMENT TO SDG 17 AND SDG 4

The Office of the Vice President for Business and External Affairs-Institutional Linkages and Special Projects Office (OVPBEA-ILSPO) conducted an orientation program for the newly designated ILSPO Coordinators on February 23, 2026, at the OVPBEA Building.

The activity formally welcomed Mr. Jerome Hipolito of Calabanga Campus, Mr. Gochoel E. Bermas of Pasacao Campus, and Ms. Nanies M. Barnuevo of Sipocot Campus to the OVPBEA family. The orientation aimed to familiarize them with their duties and responsibilities as campus coordinators and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the mandate of the ILSPO.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Christopher B. Dacer, Director for ILSPO, who presented the core functions of the office, including the establishment and strengthening of institutional linkages, development and monitoring of special projects, and coordination of collaborative initiatives with external stakeholders. He emphasized the vital role of campus coordinators in ensuring that partnership engagements are strategically aligned, properly documented, and responsive to the needs of their respective campuses.

Vice President Cherry Love B. Montales delivered a message of support, highlighting the importance of proactive leadership, unity, and professionalism in advancing the Universityโ€™s business and external affairs initiatives. She encouraged the newly designated coordinators to serve as catalysts of meaningful partnerships that contribute to institutional growth and community development.

The orientation also covered reporting protocols, documentation standards, and effective strategies for cultivating partnerships with local government units, state universities and colleges, private organizations, and industry partners. An open forum concluded the program, providing space for clarifications and collaborative dialogue.

Notably, the initiative supports the global development framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It primarily advances SDG 17-Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening institutional collaboration and multi-sectoral engagement. It also contributes to SDG 4-Quality Education, as reinforced partnerships and well-coordinated special projects enhance the Universityโ€™s capacity to deliver responsive, inclusive, and quality educational programs.

Through this orientation, OVPBEA-ILSPO reaffirms its commitment to empowering campus coordinators as key drivers of sustainable partnerships and strategic projects, in alignment with both institutional priorities and global development goals.
