Aiming to forge institutional excellence through academic quality partnership, the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) and Cagayan State University (CSU) strengthened academic cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 5, 2026, at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub in Pili, Camarines Sur.
The partnership forms part of the continuing engagement between CBSUA and CSU to strengthen collaboration in instruction, research, extension, and other academic initiatives that promote knowledge exchange and capacity building between the two state universities.
The engagement began with a courtesy call at the CBSUA Administration Building, where university officials welcomed the CSU delegation and held preliminary discussions on potential areas of academic cooperation. This was followed by the formal MOA signing at the CBSUA Agriville and Learning Hub, attended by administrators, faculty members, and representatives from both institutions.
During the program, institutional profiles and priority programs were presented to highlight opportunities for collaboration in academic development, research initiatives, and community engagement.
CSU President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended by CBSUA. He noted that both universities have comparable programs that can serve as possible areas for collaboration.
“Maraming salamat sa mainit na pagtanggap sa amin. Marami po kaming nakitang programang maganda sa inyo na may counterpart sa amin, at iyon din po ang gusto namin for collaboration and partnership,” Pres. Ibañez said.
Meanwhile, CBSUA President Dr. Alberto N. Naperi emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and inter-institutional cooperation.
“Maraming salamat, Pres. Art dahil napuntahan ninyo kami. Sabi ko sa mga kasamahan ko, ‘wag na tayong mahiya kasi hindi naman nila ipagdadamot yung knowledge at technology ng kanilang organization, dahil we have to explore what we can do and what we can discover with the help of other organizations, just like CSU,” Naperi said.
With the agreement, CBSUA and CSU reaffirm their commitment to strengthening inter-university partnerships and creating more opportunities for faculty and student development, joint research initiatives, and expanded academic linkages.
