The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) led a strategic planning meeting on March 16, 2026, for the implementation of a vetiver grass project in Gainza, Camarines Sur, in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Gainza.
The initiative aims to address soil erosion and promote environmental protection by utilizing vetiver grass as a natural solution for stabilizing soil along the Gainza River and other erosion-prone areas within the municipality.
As part of the activity, CBSUA and its partner agencies conducted a site assessment of the proposed production area to evaluate its suitability for vetiver grass cultivation and potential expansion.
