CBSUA STRENGTHENS RESEARCH CAPACITY THROUGH SMART AGRICULTURE TRAINING TRANCHE 2

The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) conducted the second tranche of its capability-building program titled “Strengthening the Research and Development Capabilities of Faculty, Researchers, and Personnel of CBSUA on Smart Agriculture for Agro-Industrial Development” on May 25 and 27, 2026, at the Ciriaco N. Divinagracia Hall, Research Division Services Building, CBSUA–Pili, under the CBSUA-NRCP RDLead Research Capability Program.

The two-day training aimed to enhance the research competencies of faculty members and researchers through hands-on workshops on research proposal development, manuscript writing, research management, and publication. Participants were guided in developing research concepts, capsule proposals, program proposals, intellectual property applications, and an updated R&D roadmap aligned with the University’s research priorities.

Resource speaker Dr. Jasper G. Tallada of the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) facilitated sessions on smart agriculture, research design, and scientific writing. He emphasized the role of universities in advancing agro-industrial development and enhancing research outputs that align with global standards and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Mr. Marfy H. Lita of the Department of Science and Technology–National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) also presented opportunities for faculty engagement in national research programs and highlighted priority research areas relevant to regional development.

The training gathered 41 faculty members and researchers from the University’s four campuses, reflecting CBSUA’s continued commitment to strengthening its research culture and advancing innovation-driven agricultural development. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘈𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘢 𝘔𝘢𝘦 𝘖. 𝘓𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘥𝘰, 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘙𝘚𝘋
