The Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) launched HIRAYA 2026 on October 19, 2026, with a series of activities centered on book pitching, a book exhibit, and the relaunching of selected university publications, highlighting the institution’s commitment to research, knowledge dissemination, and community development.

Carrying the theme β€œHIRAYA: Pitch. Present. Inspire.”, the three-day university initiative brings together faculty members, researchers, extension practitioners, students, and community partners to showcase research outputs and transform academic knowledge into accessible and meaningful resources for the public.

The opening day featured the presentation and pitching of selected CBSUA publications, providing authors and researchers an opportunity to introduce their scholarly works and highlight their potential contributions to education, agriculture, community development, and other fields. The book exhibit also showcased the university’s knowledge products, making research-based information more accessible to students, faculty members, and other stakeholders.

The event featured Fr. Wilmer Tria and Mr. Kristian Sendon Cordero as speakers, who contributed to the program’s discussions. Their participation complemented HIRAYA’s goal of encouraging knowledge sharing, creative presentation, and meaningful engagement with scholarly and cultural works.

Organized through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (VPRI), in collaboration with the Research and Extension Cluster, the Academic Affairs Cluster, and the Research and Innovation Office, HIRAYA 2026 underscores the university’s continuing efforts to strengthen its research and extension initiatives.

The initiative also serves as a platform for faculty members and staff to develop innovative project concepts aligned with the university’s strategic priorities. Through activities such as publication pitching and book relaunching, CBSUA seeks to increase the visibility and utilization of its research outputs while encouraging stronger partnerships with government agencies, local government units, academic institutions, farmers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.

HIRAYA 2026 continues on October 20 with β€œPRESENT: CBSUA REACH 2026: Research and Extension Action for Communities and Humanity,” which highlights the university’s research and extension initiatives for communities. The three-day celebration will conclude on October 21 with β€œINSPIRE: Students and MSME Financial Empowerment Program,” focusing on student development and financial empowerment for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Through HIRAYA 2026, CBSUA reaffirms its commitment to advancing research, promoting innovation, and ensuring that the knowledge generated within the university contributes to the development of communities and society.
