The 11th SEA-Teacher Programme Evaluation Meeting and the Southeast Asia Conference on Pre-Service Teacher Education successfully concluded the two-day event on October 21, 2026, at the Seda Manila Bay Hotel in Manila, Philippines.
Co-organized by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO), the Philippine Normal University (PNU), the Teacher Education Council (TEC), and REX Education, the summit gathered education leaders, institutional representatives, and policymakers from across the region. Centered on the theme “Advancing Policy, Research, and Regional Collaboration in Teacher Education,” the event served as a critical platform to evaluate the recent student-teacher exchanges of Batch 11 and outline future strategies for regional academic mobility.
Throughout the conference, delegates from participating teacher training institutions, including the various state universities and colleges, private higher education institutions, and partner agencies from the SEA countries, actively reviewed the implementation successes and field challenges of the latest cohort. Discussions emphasized transforming standard student-teacher practical exposures into robust frameworks for cross-border research and curricular harmonization.
By fostering institutional networking among universities from the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and other SEAMEO member nations, the conference solidified a collective commitment to making pre-service teacher preparation across Southeast Asia more resilient, culturally adaptive, and aligned with modern global education standards.
Said conference became an avenue for different HEIs, including CBSUA, to meet representatives from previous partners and possible future collaborators for the said program.
CBSUA Pili College of Development Education was represented by its Dean, Associate Professor Karen B. Perez, and BTVTED Chairperson, Ms. Ar-mae R. De la Cruz, while Associate Professors Dr. Aurora Bismonte and Jerome Hipolito represented CBSUA Calabanga College of Education. | 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘉. 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘻
